Pterygium removal

If you have been diagnosed as having a Pterygium, Hills Eye Surgery offers removal of this, if the Pterygium is starting to grow across/ towards your pupil or if you are unhappy with the cosmetic appearance of it.

The Pterygium procedure itself is performed at Epping Day Surgery as an outpatient basis, which means you will be there for a few hours & will not be required to stay over night.

You will then be required to attend follow up checks after your Pterygium surgery, at Hills Eye Surgery:

  • one day, after Pterygium Surgery
  • one week, after Pterygium Surgery
  • one month, after Pterygium Surgery
  • 6 months, after Pterygium Surgery
  • 1 year, after Pterygium Surgery

When you book in for Pterygium surgery, a patient information booklet will be provided to you, which contains more information. You will  have the opportunity to ask any questions regarding the procedure at your consultation.
